4 semester break our content to climb Mount Marapi . We deliberately set out to enjoy an afternoon lunch at Puncak Marapi , watch the sun set behind the hills .
Usually after the End Semester Examination ( UAS ) is completed , I would take a trip with friends, both in the region and outside the region itself . However , this semester I do not have much time for vacation .
Sure enough , in this semester we , the students of 2010 are required to do the UNP Psychology Psychology Internship for 10 weeks . However , we still were given a few weeks for a vacation , preparing and hanging out with family .
It was strange if this opportunity is not filled with holiday with friends . So we decided to climb the mountain . In addition to closer of our locations in Bukittinggi , mountain climbing does not require a long time . Be our vacation to Mount Marapi , West Sumatra .
We set off on June 6, 2013 , at 11.00 am . From Bukittinggi we use public transportation to the blue New Koto . If requested , this public transportation willing to take us up to the checkpoint where to report before starting the adventure . Public transportation fare Rp . 5000 , -/orang . Travel time is approximately 30 minutes .
As reported , we sign the guest book containing the names of those who go climbing , phone number and the number of families who could be contacted . Then we were given a cue to save water , do not revoke such adelwis perennial flowers and rice flower .
We are also encouraged not littering , bringing back plastic waste , zinc and other types of non-organic waste and warned not to linger at the summit Marapi . The most time is 1 hour long .
After reporting in the post , we immediately began to adventure . Initial trip through the farm population . Up in Post 1 , KM 1 , we take a break , then start again berjalanan .
We intentionally did this trip during the day in order to get the beauty of the sunset when it has reached its peak . Most climbers make the trip at night , because we will need the energy if the trip is done during the day .
Terrain is difficult enough when passing through a street full of tree roots . We are required to stronger foot .
In traveling , you should remember is frugal . We should not be wasteful use of water . This is because in the famous Marapi water stress .
What is interesting to me , climbing Marapi tradition with calling for the father and mother of men to women when it bumped into another person during a trip to the summit or even when coming down the mountain .
Places that are usually used to fill water supplies are well Beetle in KM 2 , Door winds before entering the Rocks , and at Edelweiss Park on top of the mountain .
We arrived at 18:00 pm Rocks . Rock is the boundary between the peak and the camp . If the analogy in the distance as the eyes and head .
We managed to see the sunset , though not of Merpati Peak , which is the name for the peak Marapi . Rocks to the top of the mountain can take one to two hours .
A lovely afternoon . Truly an amazing sight until the stars came out and filled the valley of the city lights .
We spent the night in the rock . The next morning we went on a trip to enjoy the summit . Unfortunately , we did not get a sunrise .
If you still have power , we can come into play at Edelweiss Park which is not so far away , but the terrain is quite difficult . I myself do not get to the park , because my shortness of breath during a trip by the smell of sulfur .
In total , long trip for beginners about 4-5 hours . But for climbers who are familiar , the trip can be done as long as 2 hours .
To be sure this holiday is very different and very amazing .
